A perfect PDA for a beginner

I bought this PDA for my wife that he wanted instead of having to deal with a large paper calendar. He wanted something basic, without any accessories like a camera or Internet access to add $ 's and can be confusing. After a little research I found that this is the best solution for its price.

Palm Z22 is a large color screen and is super easy to use. Even with this, even for 5 minutes I was comfortable with the pen tool and was able to write really easy. My wife saves everything she needs and it was really happy with it. The device is really easy to create and the software is easy to install on your PC. The sync-Ing between PDA and PC is fast and easy as it via a USB port. Contributions will be input in either PDA or by typing in your PC and then synchronize them to the PDA. I think one of the best features of such a basic model is that you can upload images and veiw of it. The quality is relatively low, but it nice to have them in hand. Download a variety of additional applications for PDA from the Internet and installed quickly and easily.

The complaint I have is the quality of materials. The plastic casing feels a bit cheap, but you pay a base price of PDA with a color screen. The rubber case that comes in the box is annoying to get to and from. It will not stop me to buy a PDA although I had read Planty of good reviews on the actual PDA itself. Unfortunately, there are a limited number of cases that support this model. A friend gave my wife a good Palm leather case to keep it protected, but too large to Z22 fell so easily. The only options now are a clear hard case.

Overall my wife is very happy that I am happy. So I commend it to all beginners prepared a basic PDA to keep track of their calendar, contacts, pictures and more, but do not want anything more.

Note that I have given the Z22 five stars, taking into account the relative value of price and features. Of course, more is a low-end device, so it is marked accordingly.

I buy one of these for my mother, who still is with a heavy erased and crossed-out address book and calendar on paper. He has been reluctant to move to electronic organizers, and I finally decided to get this one on his part because of the following characteristics:

1) is NVFS, which means that when my mother always forget to recharge it he will not lose all of his information.

2) is small, lightweight, easy to use and has a color screen.

3) is a palm that I spent many years and can easily demonstrate its use of some helpful tips.

One feature that I know the Z22 had, and found that the true 'Hook' as far as my mother is concerned, is the ability to add pictures to contacts. Now my mom has pictures of each of his children and grandchildren, who are attached to their contact info. For him, clinch. I think he finally is now abandoning his address book.

The Z22 is a good form factor, and it resembles the iPod in appearance and size - but the Palm is brighter. The screen is not hi res, so do not expect hi to your photos - but it gets the job done. And the processor is fast enough specific.

Another nice touch is that a screen Patron is included in the package - which I put on first thing. The software is pretty basic, and it will include a call stupid game Crazy Daisy, who probably will not have any use.

There is one thing I found frustrating, but it has to do the packaging. They had to use a heavier gauge plastic of the package because it took me ten minutes to carefully cut open and the contents of the damage. Make sure you have a heavy exactos knife or a pair of veteran big scissors.

I think you could call me a gadget freak. I got a box full of electronic gadgets and gone through many innovations in our modern world. I own and use three generations of the iPod (mini, 4G, nano and video iPod), countless mobile phone (from TDMA to GSM times), notebooks and computers, and most important (and why we are here today), PDA's .

This is not my first time with a personal digital assistant. My first excursion on the PDA's are a Palmones Treo 600, and then Motorola MPx200; after the Treo died and MPx200 bored, I went to a Palm City, so SMT5600 after I was shifted to an HP iPAQ RX1955, and Finally, I just had to do it and return to the Z22.

If you take the time to read reviews and consider your purchase options before you click on the Checkout button, you'll probably mentality of getting a Windows Mobile device, and believe me, I will down that route (as you can see from the sad list above).

If you think of Windows Mobile, so maybe this is the device for you (yes, I'm serious).

You can never have too many electronics devices, but you only have two hands, two ears, two eyes and udom. Sure, you can have a device that all of this, or multiple devices to do things well. It is your choice, but now, if you take a moment and look around you - your cell phone probably plays MP3's, your MP3 player probably calendar function on it, your notebook all you need with the Internet, oh wait phone as the Internet and play mp3's and videos, d'oh, your PSP plays better quality video, etc. .. day the anger is against the convergence devices, but eventually you find yourself out of all your gadgets and what-not, leaning towards something ...

So, why you wasting money on all others? You buy a product, because you may need for its primary function, not more stuff you use, right?

At the time of maddening convergence device, I returned to the Z22 for my day planner needs. Humility is the most elegant form of art.

OK, enough for the Philippines. You like dirt, and here it is:

The Z22 is not equipped with the prettiest screen (if you want a great display try Palm City or Life Drive - guaranteed that amazing, especially when you play the video by TCPMP), the most powerful processor (in fact, the Z22 is the opposite), or the most memory (modern Windows Mobile device has 128 + MB of memory, but more on that later), but it is equipped with design and thoughfulness.

First and foremost is the Palm Z22. Palm also happens to companies that brought handheld organizers predecessors in the mass market. In its latest form, garnet (V5.4), has evolved into an operating system that promotes simplicity, function and usability. Sure, WM5 (Windows Mobile 5.0) has better multimedia capabilities, Office 'compatible' Suites, and supports multiple options just outside the box, but the OS is not matured PalmOS than in terms of ease of use and design.
